The monthly reading may be a beat but the yearly estimate was softer relative to last month. Of note, the core reading fell from +1.5% y/y in November to +1.4% y/y in December. Couple this with the Spanish inflation figures released at the same time, there's a bit of worry in this space if the trend persists moving forward for the ECB.
