US and China prove that adults are no different from children in a playground
China made their move yesterday here, but notably excluded some of the bigger items that the US exports to the country.
It's no coincidence surely as they await the US response before unveiling the big guns. So, what is the US planning to aim at right now?
The next set of tariffs from Trump will be directed at China's plans surrounding the "Made in China 2025" campaign. It is reported that the tariffs will come in around the amount of $60 billion, and will target China's high tech ambitions.
The "Made in China 2025" campaign revolves around 10 industries: advanced IT, robotics, aircraft, electrical general equipment, agricultural machinery, pharmaceuticals, new energy vehicles, advanced rail equipment, and advanced materials. So, these are the areas to be hit the hardest by Trump.
Meanwhile, in retaliation, China will likely look to hit the US with tariffs on soybeans and aircrafts - two of the highest valued US exports to China.
China is the largest soybeans importer in the world, while the US is among the largest exporters of the commodity - along with Brazil. And Boeing aircrafts is another big-ticket item that China is still holding back on, for now at least.
Those will be the next items to watch out for on the tariffs front between the two countries.
