Soft UK retail sales data:

This isn't as bad as it looks. The 'expected' number is bunk because some economists didn't realize that Black Friday fell in a different week last year. Once you adjust for that (which is a bit more art than science) then sales rose 0.9%, which is the best monthly rise since January.
