US DATA: wk 15-Sep ICSC-Goldman Store Sales: “Consumers took a
break in spending this past week and as a result retailers experienced a
slip in weekly sales. Overall for the week ending September 15 weekly
retail sales decreased by 2.5%, according to the International Council
of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Goldman Sachs Weekly Chain Store Sales
Index. On a year-over-year basis, the pace of retail sales also slowed
to 2.1%. Sales tumbled over the last week as temperatures turned
modestly warmer and consumers seemingly took a break from shopping.”
