The NZD is the strongest. The EUR is the weakest as North American traders enter for the day. THe USD is stronger - rising against all the major currencies with the exception of the NZD - although the changes are relatively modest.

The ranges area somewhat limited today. The EUR pairs are near the bottoms though in the snapshot. The EURUSD is down -47 pips and near the lows. The EURGBP is down -25 and also near the low for the day.

In other markets today, the snapshot near the start of the day is showing

  • Spot gold down -$6.92 or -0.52% to $1273.60
  • WTI Crude oil is up $0.11 to $51.94
  • US yields are lower but by less than 1 BP across the board (so near unchanged)
  • US pre-market stocks are up a little. S&P futures are up 1.75%. Dow futures are up 21 points. Nasdaq futures are up 10 points
  • The Nikkei225 rose 1.11%. The German Dax is up 0.16%. France's Cac is up 0.3%. UK FTSE is unchanged.
  • Euro 10 year yields are down a bit. Germany 0.437%, down 1.5 bp. France 0.847%, down -1.5 bp. UK 1.319%, down -1.3 bp. Spain 1.637%, down -2.6 bp. Italy 2.01%, down -3.3 bp. Portugal 2.292%, down -1.6 bp
