Still down over 1% (or more)

The US stocks are opening lower with the Dow the big loser. Apple shares are weighing on the market (down -$14.50 on the day).

A snapshot a few minutes into the opening is showing:

  • The S&P is down -27.83 points or -1.11% at 2482
  • The NASDAQ is down -94.84 points or -1.44% at 6570.22
  • The Dow is now down -356 points or -1.52% at 22996

The Dow futures reached about 22875 overnight. It is currently trading at 23123. So the fall is not as bad.

In the US debt market yields are buyer bought off the peak levels after the much better than expected ADP report

  • spot gold is up $4.13 or 0.32% $1288.82
  • WTI crude oil futures are up $.47 or 1% at $47
  • Bitcoin on Coinbase is down $45.38 at $3839.25

A snapshot of the forex market continues to show the JPY is the strongest but some of the gains are being eroded. The GBP is still the weakest but some of it's decline are being retraced as well since the NY open.
