McConnell has decided he doesn't have the vote and told Republican colleagues he will delay the healthcare vote until after the July 4 recess.
Trump is inviting all Republican Senators to the White House at 4 pm ET today (2000 GMT). Sounds like he's going to try to make a last-ditch effort, or he will try to score political points on his own party.
The bill is being defeated largely by conservatives who want something more wide-ranging. The problem is that the moderates will abandon it if the bill is rewritten in that direction.
