At 0100GMT on September 1 we get the latest data from the China Manufacturing PMI, for August.

  • Expected is 50.6, prior was 50.3.

The market now treats the China manufacturing PMI with a good deal of skepticism since the president of the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, which compiles the data along with the National Bureau of Statistics, said they have suspended the release of industry-specific data from the survey data announcement. Bloomberg reports that “the disappearance of data on industries including steel adds to issues hampering analysis” of China’s economy.

Nevertheless, ForexLive will have the number reported well before markets open on Monday.

On September 2, at 0145GMT (during normal market hours) HSBC/Markit release their China Manufacturing PMI for August.
