According to a statement from the Old Lady there are plans to layoff around 100 staff in a cost cutting exercise. A review is said to have indentified £18m of savings by 2015/16. The bank will consult staff before making any cuts and the targeted area is said to be the Central services department.
Not even central banks are free from austerity measures.
