The minutes of the Federal Open Market Committee January meeting are on Wednesday 2018 February 2019 at 1900GMT

Via Barclays:

  • look to the minutes for insights as to whether FOMC participants see the rate hike cycle as essentially complete or members still expect further rate hikes as part of the baseline outlook
  • we expect the minutes to signal that the committee is prepared to release its plan for the end of the runoff of its balance sheet "soon", which we believe will come at the March meeting

NatWest:

  • A lot of information has been communicated from the Fed in recent weeks, via Powell's post-FOMC press conference, and a slew of Fed speeches and media interviews.
  • Thus, we do not expect the minutes to contain all that much new information on the outlook, although any further discussion regarding the balance sheet unwind will be of particular interest.
