The RBA meet on Tuesday 7 February 2017
- The decision announcement and the Governor's accompanying Statement will be at 2.30pm Sydney time
- 0330GMT
- Note also that on Friday (10 February) the Reserve Bank of Australia publish their Statement on Monetary policy. The Statement is issued four times a year, it updates the Bank's assessment of current economic conditions (domestic & international), along with their outlook for Australian inflation and output growth.
Goldman Sachs preview (in brief)
- Expects the cash rate to be left on hold
- Expect the RBA to update (lower) its GDP forecast to account for the negative Q3 GDP result
- GS have as their base case an RBA hike in Q1 2018, but note that the most likely risk to their forecast is for an earlier hike (in H2 of 2017)
