A tsunami alert has been issued following the earthquake in Venezuela

Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued the warning on a tsunami

• Says a tsunami is possible within 300 kilometres of the earthquake epicentre
• This covers coastal areas of Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela

The earthquake has been upgraded by the USGS to magnitude 7.3. This is a huge quake. Buildings in Venezuela's capital Caracas have been/are being evacuated

This is terrible for the people of Venezuela who are already putting up with so much.

For oil traders - there is plenty of oil infrastructure in the area under threat
