Asian Bourses are trading lower today with exporters in Japan hit on the back of a stronger Yen. Traders are also concerned over escalating China/US trade tensions, after the US decided to put steep import duties on Chinese Tyres.
The Shanghai Composite is now trading in negative territory after opening up, the Nikkei is trading 2.5% lower, the Kospi is 0.7% lower and the ASX200 is down 1%.
USDJPY selling has put a lot of pressure on the Nikkei today, with reports that a move below 90.00 could result in the Nikkei moving back below 10,000.
Commodity stock are also under pressure today, with the Shanghai copper futures limit down 5% as investors worried about rising stockpiles and thin demand. BHP down 1.6%, RIO down 2%.
