This via Capital Economics on Bank of Japan Governor Kuroda> will he stay or will ge? And ... does it even matter?

... early next year ... Governor Kuroda's five-year term comes to an end

  • The consensus is that Mr Kuroda will be reappointed but we are not so sure
  • No governor has ever served consecutive terms and Mr Kuroda is now 73 years old
  • What's more, two advisors of PM Abe have argued that he should be replaced
  • The key point though is that the governor is appointed by the prime minister. If Mr Kuroda does leave, Mr Abe will surely replace him with another dovish candidate.

My vote is to keep him on. Even if just so I can use this pic over and over.
