There was a bit of a knee jerk reaction in the pound on that headline as cable jumped from 1.3115 to 1.3135. EUR/GBP also fell from 0.8705 to 0.8695 on the back of that. But I won't read too much into this headline. We've all heard this kind of narrative over the past few weeks.
Until Theresa May comes up with a workable proposal to the backstop to satisfy parliament, the DUP, and European officials, don't keep your hopes up.
