Comments from Brexit secretary Stephen Barclay in parliament

  • Meaningful vote to take place next week

  • Consequences of no-deal Brexit would be 'material'

  • Gov'ts firm intention is not to extend Article 50

  • Extending Article 50 isn't a unilateral move

  • Gov't seeking legal and political reassurances on deal

There's all kinds of talk about Plan B if the deal is voted down, which is what's expected. The favored scenario is a second vote. It's a scenario that would allow those opposed to grandstand and then eventually fall in line while saying a no-deal Brexit was too big of a risk to take.
