Brexit ministry scolding the MPs (the amusing part of this of course is the scoldings the UK got from the EU was a big reason for the vote to leave … )
Anyway, the Brexit Ministry:
- says the Letwin amendment upends the balance between our democratic institutions and sets a dangerous, unpredictable precedent for the future
- says any options put forward by parliament must be deliverable in negotiations with the EU
- says parliament should take account of how long these negotiations would take, and if they'd require a longer extension which would mean holding EU elections
