Canada Markit Manufacturing PMI for December 53.6 vs 54.9 last month

Sharp fall but still comfortably above the 50.0 level

Canada Markit Manufacturing PMI for December came in at 53.6 versus 54.9 last month. It is the lowest level since January 2017.

• The high for 2018 came in at 57.1 in June. This month was the lowest, taking out the October low at 53.9
• output falls to 52 versus 53.4 November
• employment falls to the lowest reading since May 2018
