Highlights:

  • EUR long position remained near unchanged levels. The high was made on Tuesday. The price is down about 200 pips from the high currently. If the price continues to go lower, the selling could intensify as the long position is relatively hefty.
  • The USDJPY nearly made it to the lows for 2017 this week on Tuesday but rebounded strongly by the close. That gave the shorts in the JPY some relief. Perhaps the worst is over for the shorts.
  • The CAD made new highs going back to June 2015 today (lower in the USDCAD). That benefits the longs in that currency.
  • The AUD had an up and down and down and up week. The price overall is near the highest level of the year. Speculators are betting that the trend continues.
