Citigroup earnings are out and the earnings season is underway. Although the earnings beat expectations, revenues came in weaker than expectations. The stock is trading lower by about -1.0%.

US stocks are off to a weaker start this week as the US shutdown hits day 24 (the backlog of economic releases is growing with each passing day), and the China import/export data was weak.
