MADRID (MNI) – There are no firm decisions on financial aid for
Greece beyond the E30 billion ready to be loaned during the first year
of the three-year contingency program, European Central Bank Governing
Council member Ewald Nowotny said on Friday.
Asked by reporters about further steps in the Greek rescue plan,
Nowotny said: “That remains to be seen. Such programs always have to be
developed further on an ongoing basis, and that can’t be exactly
determined.”
Speaking on the sidelines of the an Ecofin meeting in Madrid,
Nowotny also noted that Hungary had not needed all the money the IMF had
made available for it in a previous rescue package.
