A preview of the calendar in European trading

Good day, everyone! Welcome to a start of a brand new week. Hope you're all doing well and that the weekend was a great one.

The start of trading today has been a little quiet but we have had some movement in the yen noticeably. The currency retraced early losses and currently sits near the highs for the day - yen pairs near the lows that is.

Anyway, here is what's coming up in European trading later:

0600 GMT - Germany March wholesale price index data

Prior report can be found here. The index measures the value of sales made by wholesalers in Germany, it provides an indicator of consumption and retail pattern. A minor data point.

0715 GMT - Switzerland March producer and import prices data

Latest data can be found here. A rough gauge of inflationary pressures. Not all too important relative to inflation forecasts by the SNB.

0800 GMT - SNB total sight deposits w.e. 13 April

Your weekly check of the deposits kept at the SNB by Swiss banks. This data is a proxy for FX interventions.

0810 GMT - BOJ's Amamiya speaks at a conference

BOJ deputy governor Amamiya will be speaking at a fintech conference held by the IMF, FSA, and BOJ.

That's all on the day, a rather light one to start the week. I wish you all the best of days ahead and as always, good luck with your trading!
