Says it is better to look at if a Brexit deal is possible by tonight
Bloomberg is citing a UK official on the remarks above, noting that there are bigger issues than VAT holding up a Brexit deal at this juncture.
Meanwhile, a EU diplomat is adding more colour to the summit this week by saying that it is unlikely that the summit will extend to Saturday just for the sake of Brexit discussions.
There's going to be a lot of noise similar to this over the next few hours but the key thing to watch out for now is if Johnson can get DUP support on a deal and if UK-EU negotiators can find common ground to hash out a draft agreement.
