Enthusiasm fades after Chinese equities reverse gains to close lower

Optimism is fleeting in the equities space as Chinese equities turn on their heads to close the day on a weaker note. The Shanghai Composite ends 0.3% lower after posting more than 1.0% gains earlier today.
Overall, Asian equities are still higher for the most part but European investors will have little to work with after the U-turn in China as well as flat tones in US equity futures. That is also not really helping the mood in currencies with USD/JPY still hovering just under the 112.00 handle and major currencies still subdued in the European morning.
