An extension to Article 50 does not satisfy everyone in Europe

European Parliament's Brexit coordinator, Guy Verhofstadt, is pouring a bit of cold water on the idea of an Article 50 extension. He tweets:

What we will not let happen, deal or no deal, is that the mess in British politics is again imported into European politics. While we understand the UK could need more time, for us it is unthinkable that article 50 is prolonged beyond the European Elections. #Brexit #EPlenary

The good thing is that it won't exactly be up to him as any extension requires the unanimous permission of all EU member states instead. As it stands, there aren't many vocal dissenters to the idea of delaying Brexit in the European Union but we could find out more on that in the coming days/weeks.
