What's coming up in North American trade
The scheduled for economic data features US January factory orders at 1400 GMT. That report includes revisions to durable goods orders as well. It's the lone US indicator on the calendar but the Fed also begins its two-day meeting.
Canada will be more of a wild card but not until late in the session. At 2000 GMT, the Federal government releases the 2019 fiscal year budget. The governing Liberals have a majority so the announcements are as good as done. And with the party losing some support recently, they will be looking to buy some votes. There is talk of something on personal taxes, more jobs training programs and something to stimulate the housing market.
There's also talk about $4 billion for a new train line that will get me to downtown Toronto in half the time. Fingers crossed.
