Reuters report that Greeks are stocking up on basics
Belgian retailer Delhaize says that its Greek supermarket business is seeing big demand for basic items as Greeks stock up. Credit and debit card use accounts for around 50% of payments now, up from an average of 15%. They also confirm that they are still importing goods into Greece
Meanwhile a European transport firm has ordered its Greek drivers to stock up on fuel and notes that there has been a big drop in booking in the Greek market
Despite my disparaging remarks towards Gabriel's humanitarian comments, the game of chicken is going to drag the Greek people even further into the mess and they will certainly have something to say if the banks don't open tomorrow
We'd better hope that both sides know what they are doing
