Cyber security company FireEye says more than 100 companies, investment advisors and law firms involved in mergers and acquisitions have been hacked by a Wall-Street savvy group called FIN 4.
More than two-thirds of the targets are in the pharmaceutical industry, FireEye said, as hackers trawl private inboxes for information on drug trials and US Medicare reimbursement policies as well as deals, which could affect those companies’ stock prices.
Sounds a little bit like a company that wants to sell some security services but it will undoubtedly be a major problem for years to come.
