Comments by Ifo's economist, Klaus Wohlrabe, following the report earlier
- Export expectations have fallen further
- German economy on the path to normalisation
- Coalition crisis not reflected in June survey
- Uncertainty among German companies is edging upwards
- Debate about US trade war, weaker global economy contributed to fall in confidence
It sure took a while for them to admit it, but in the end they have to face the music. Domestic demand remains solid for the German economy, but trade/exports remain a real thorn in the side so far this year and the ongoing trade spat between EU and US isn't going to help that in the near future.
