The transition period expires on 31 December this year but for the UK, Boris Johnson has insisted that by 15 October, they will know whether to leave with or without a Brexit deal and there is no chance of an extension.
There was a report yesterday suggesting that the EU may want to call his bluff on that, so we're now caught in a game of poker between the two sides.
