Istat says that Italy's economy is to remain weak in the near future

According to Istat, they view that the Italian economy is to remain weak in the near-term based on their leading indicator. That's hardly surprising considering Italy's economy is posting near recession-like growth towards the end of last year.

As mentioned before, it's going to be a real challenge for the government to keep up its promise on the budget deficit with economic growth set to struggle this year and debt continuing to balloon up. It's only a matter of time before Italy's debt issue comes back into the spotlight again.
