• Neither centre-left nor centre-right appear to have a majority
• Need to get to 158 seats for a majority
• Centre-left look slightly ahead in the lower house based on projections
• Grillo looks set to get around 25%
• Berlusconi has won many more upper house seats than expected – seemingly due to voes leaking from the left to Grillo
• Monti’s results are more or less in line with the polls
• Doesn’t look like a clear majority is going to be achieved in the Senate … another election is looking likely at this stage (but we do await final, official results)
• It looks a few months (at the least) of instability in Italy.
