Economic reform is high on the agenda in Japan, freeing up trade is a good start.
“It was confirmed that (the TPP agreement) does not presuppose the abolition of all tariffs without exception during the Japan-U.S. summit,” Abe told executives at an LDP Board meeting on Feb. 25, overcoming a major opposition point.
This is a big step for the LDP, and Japan. I read somewhere yesterday the tariff on imported rice in the hundreds of percent. Wow.
