- Japanese PM Abe plans to keep Economic and Fiscal Policy Minister Akira Amari and Finance Minister Taro Aso in their current positions when he reshuffles his cabinet on September 3.
- Aso, who is also deputy prime minister, will deal with issues such as cutting corporate taxes and deciding whether to further raise the consumption tax.
- Amari will remain in charge of negotiations over the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade pact.
- Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga will stay on board, as will the three deputy chief cabinet secretaries and five special advisers to the prime minister.
