Comment from US trade rep Lighthizer
Lighthizer said he is ready to work with Democrats 'sooner rather than later' to work out differences on the USMCA trade deal.
I don't understand how that's supposed to work. Canada and Mexico are already in the process of ratifying the text. Sure you can get some side-letters but that's going to take some negotiation as well.
From the Democrats side, you would basically be handing Trump a win when (arguably) that would weaken your hand politically and it would come without even the benefit of changing the deal.
