Tokyo's main index closes near flat levels in light trading
Chinese equities are more cheerful today but the rest of the region is rather mixed with little action overall, as investors wait on the Fed meeting on Wednesday before showing any real conviction. The Nikkei is ending the day near flat levels having traded in a narrow range to kick start the new week.
Overall market sentiment is slightly more positive but nothing to suggest a major risk-on rally just yet. US equity futures are up by around 0.2% to 0.3%, which should be reflected in European equities as well at the open.
USD/JPY holds a little higher as such, trading around 108.60 now as buyers continue to hold near-term control for the time being.
