Tokyo's main index closes the day lower on the day

A soggy day for Japanese stocks and Asian stocks in general, following yesterday's softer tone from US trading. The Hang Seng index is also down by 0.89% currently, with losses also seen in the major indices in Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
The only one to buck the trend are Chinese stocks - who return from the Lunar New Year break, where we're seeing the Shanghai Composite and CSI 300 indices both higher on the day by 2.03% and 2.09% respectively.
