Tokyo's main index closes lower as Asian stocks trade softer on the session

Nikkei 07-03

The lack of any clear direction this week isn't helping equities sentiment on the day and Wall Street's sluggish performance again certainly doesn't inspire confidence as well. With US-China trade talks still awaiting further developments (headlines of a possible Trump-Xi meet), equities are looking a little bit nervous on the week.

That said, risk assets are rather mixed still with the aussie and kiwi mainly benefiting from Chinese authorities' pledge to boost the economy while Treasury yields are still flat on the day. I reckon it'll all come down to tomorrow's US jobs data to provide markets with further clues on how to go about with things.
