No signs of Trump backing down as shutdown looms

Trump is calling for Senator Mitch McConnell to fight for his wall funding

"Senator Mitch McConnell should fight for the Wall and Border Security as hard as he fought for anything. He will need Democrat votes, but as shown in the House, good things happen. If enough Dems don't vote, it will be a Democrat Shutdown! House Republicans were great yesterday!"
Yesterday, the House approved a spending bill which included money for Trump's border wall and said bill would keep the government running until February. But the bill is seen very likely to be shot down by the Senate when put to a vote later today.

On Wednesday though, the Senate passed a measure that did not include Trump's border wall funding, which would prevent a government shutdown. However, Trump has threatened to veto the bill, resulting in the predicament we are at now.

Should Congress fail to come up with a stopgap measure by tonight, it will result in a partial shutdown and that will only add more woes for equities and risk sentiment later in the day.
