Richmond Fed manufacturing index June 2019
The which without manufacturing index for June came in at 3 versus to estimate. That was lower than the 5 reading last month.

- shipments index +7 in June versus +2 in May
- number of employees 2 versus 17 last month
- prices paid 1.58% versus 2.21% last month
- prices received 1.68% versus 1.53% last month
- new orders 1 versus 0 last month
- backlog orders 0 versus -4 last month
- capacity utilization -4 versus -2 last month
- Fender lead times 7 versus 0 last month
- average workweek -2 versus 1 last month
- wages 21 versus 38 last month
- finished good inventories 21 versus 26 last month
- raw materials inventories 27 versus 37 last month
The low for the year came in at -2 in January. the high for 2019 reached 16 and February.
The low from 2018 was -8 in December while the high reached 29 in September 2018.
As Adam pointed out in an earlier post, the regional indices for June have been less than stellar as a result of trade war concerns. This was down on the month but a little better than expectations, and the index remains positive as well. So perhaps not as bad on a month on month look.
