The Bank of Thailand is starting to get a headache as well

Although Japan's finance minister Aso made some comments earlier here that there is no need for intervention yet, let's face the truth, Japan and the BOJ are not happy that the yen is strengthening further this year.

Otherwise, they wouldn't have been so coordinated in their efforts to talk about the "volatile" and "speculative" movements in the yen.

Anyway, back to the Bank of Thailand. The Thai baht is the strongest performing Asian currency on the day (as shown above), and it's presenting a problem for the central bank - who has come out in January to try and talk down the baht.

USD/THB hit lows not seen since November 2013 today, and if the downtrend continues, it's going to put the central bank in a tighter spot when it comes to managing monetary policy - just like the BOJ.

And that's not something the Bank of Thailand would welcome.
