Bank of Thailand governor Veerathai Santiprabhob with some comments

  • If THB rises too fast, it may affect the real economy
  • To closely monitor the THB, ready to add measures if the moves are unusual

Further to his comments two days ago here.

They're quite concerned about the recent appreciation in the Thai baht, and is following the footsteps of the Bank of Korea to verbally intervene in the market so far.

Expect more Asian central banks and government to do the same. It's a tight rope for them to walk on if the dollar continues to weaken this year.
