Dow posts 11th record close since the Election
The Dow industrial average closed the day at record highs once again. It was the 11th record close since the Trump victory and he had his finger in the pudding again today
First he tweeted that American company Boeing was overcharging for the new Air Force 1's that are to be manufactured. He tweeted he would cancel the order.
Later he tweeted that Softbank would invest 50B (part of a 100B Saudi sovereign wealth fund) in the US and that investment would create 50,000 new jobs. That news gave investors visions of increased valuations from start ups to the largest telecom firms.
As a result, the other major indices all closed near the day's highs.
- The S&P composite index closed at 2212.23, +7.52 points or + 0.34%. The high was 2212.78.
- The Nasdaq composite index closed at 5333.00 (high was 5333.98) or 0.45%.
