UK finance minister, Rishi Sunak, with the announcement
- No changes up until the end of July
- From August to October, the scheme will continue but with greater flexibility to support the transition back to work
Further details will only be made available at the end of May but Sunak does say that workers will continue to receive the same level of support as they do now, at 80% of their salary, up to £2,500. That will help further with the fallout from the virus outbreak at least.
