Latest data released by the UK Nationwide Building Society - 1 November 2018

  • Prior +0.3%
  • House price index +1.6% vs +1.9% y/y expected
  • Prior +2.0%

Slight delay in the release by the source. A miss on the figures there as UK annual house price growth falls to its weakest level since May 2013. That continues to highlight that the UK housing market remains relatively soft. It will be interesting to see whether or not housing activity will pick up once Brexit is out of the way but for now, the uncertainty and rising borrowing costs is certainly taking a toll on the housing market.
