Highlights of the July new home sales report:

  • Prior was 406K (revised to 422K)
  • Down 2.4% in the month
  • New home supply at 6.0 months versus 5.6 prior — highest since Oct 2011

The market was looking for something a bit better than “expected” because of the strong numbers on existing sales and housing starts last week.
