North Korea could weigh on risk sentiment Monday

The follow-up meeting to the Trump-Kim summit was a set-back.

North Korea's foreign ministry foreign ministry issued a statement hours after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo departed saying that US demands might lead to "a dangerous phase that might rattle our willingness for denuclearization that had been firm."

The statement said the meeting had been "regrettable" and was "betraying the spirit" of the Trump-Kim summit.

Pompeo, meanwhile, had a completely different take. He said they "made progress on almost all the central issues."

Responding to a North Korean comment that the US demands were "gangster-like", Pompeo brushed it aside. "If those requests were gangster-like, the world is a gangster," he said.
