I reckon labelling it an 'upwards' trend may be a bit of a stretch. If anything, China is just on the road to recovery after what has been a poor economic year by its own standards. The property sector crash and destruction of domestic demand have been two major drags on the economy, no matter how Beijing might try to spin the narrative otherwise.
