France's CAC falls -2.4%

The major European indices are closing sharply lower with the France's CAC the biggest decliner at -2.4%. A look at the provisional closes shows

  • German DAX, -1.3%. The low was at -2.16%
  • France's CAC, -2.43%. The low was at -3.09%
  • UK's FTSE 100 -1.5%. The low was at -2.48%
  • Spain's Ibex, -0.8%. The low was at -1.81%
  • Italy's FTSE MIB, -1.6%. The low was at -2.44%

In other markets as London/European traders look to exit:

  • Spot gold is down $4.40 or -0.25% at $1783.
  • Spot silver is down $0.23 or -1% at $23.26.
  • WTI crude oil futures are down $1.25 or -1.93% at $63.34
  • The price of bitcoin is trading up $1000 at $45,803

In the US debt market, yields are ticking back to the downside:

Looking at the forex market, the USD remains the strongest, while the CAD remains the weakest. The CAD has weakened today on the back of the fall in crude oil. most of the US gains are in the AUD, NZD and CAD. It is also higher vs the GBP today.
