UK FTSE is the exception
The major European indices are ending the day was solid gains. The exception is the UK FTSE which eked out a small advance. The provisional closes are showing:
- German DAX, +1.1%
- France's CAC, +1.0%
- UK's FTSE, +0.1%
- Spain's Ibex, +0.4%
- Italy's FTSE MIB, +1.12%
- Portugal's PSI 20, +0.74%
In the 10 year note sector, yields are ending the session mixed with Italian yields down -5.4 basis points. German yields are up 1.1 basis point. Below is a snapshot of the major countries ten year note yields.
In other markets as London traders look to exit:
- spot gold, +$2.00 or 0.15% at $1310.15
- WTI crude oil futures up $1.14 or 2.18% to $53.55
In the US stock market the S&P index is bumping against its 200 day moving average at 2743.35. The current price is trading at 2742.81.
The US stock indices are showing:
- The S&P index is up 33 points or 1.22% at 2742.80
- The NASDAQ indexes up 100 points or 1.36% at 2407.80
- The Dow is up 338 points or 1.35% at 25390
